Frank Hershel "Pat" Stasey (March 11, 1917 - March 29, 2005) was a minor league baseball player. His career spanned from 1938 to 1955. His last years were spent in the Longhorn League. He managed the Big Spring Broncs from 1947 to 1952, the Roswell Rockets in 1953 and 1954, and the Hobbs Sports from 1955 to 1956.
Realizing how close Joe Bauman was to breaking the professional homerun record, Pat Stasey moved Bauman up from clean-up to starter to give him more opportunities to hit in September 1954. During the road trip, which took the Roswell Rockets 200 miles to Big Spring, Texas, and then 200 miles back to Artesia, New Mexico, Stasey wondered who'd set up the schedule, calling that unknown person "squirelly". Rockets pitching coach Vallie Eaves told Stasey that if he wanted things to make sense, he shouldn't be playing baseball.
