Catalonia comprises four provinces: Barcelona, Girona, Lleida and Tarragona. Its capital city is Barcelona. The official languages are Spanish, Catalan, and Aranese.

Catalonia in In High Places[]

In an alternate where the Great Black Deaths allowed medieval Islam to outpace Christianity, people in Catalonia spoke both Catalan and Arabic. Annette Klein, from the little bit she heard, noted that the Catalan spoken there had some differences from the Catalan spoken in the home timeline.[1]

Catalonia in The War That Came Early[]

In late 1938, Spanish Republican forces, backed by French armor, launched an offensive from Catalonia that retook the town of Vinaroz from the Nationalists, thus unifying Republican territory.[2]
