Jasper in The Two Georges[]

Colonel Thomas Bushell's train entered the Province of Albertus via Jasper. He remarked on the cold beauty of the mountainous scenery to Captain Samuel Stanley. Stanley replied that if the Swedish fashion for sliding through snow on two boards tied to your feet ever caught on, this would be the place to indulge in that activity. He had learned about the activity in the army when he was taught that the Russians had a few regiments of ski troops in Alaska, a notion which caused Bushell to have a waking nightmare about these troops invading the Union and making it as far as Hudson Bay.[1]
