James Byron Dean (February 8, 1931 – September 30, 1955) was a two-time Oscar-nominated American film actor and pop-culture icon. His career rose meteorically and ended abruptly with his death in an automobile accident. Dean's only films were Rebel Without a Cause, Giant, and East of Eden, all released in the span of 1955-1956.
Originally considered nothing but a pretty face, Dean gradually matured in his acting style as his career progressed. He would later play the lead in a movie about a doctor who revived patients who had been comatose since before 1942, and who had to acclimate themselves to the presence of the Race on Earth. Ullhass and Ristin appeared in the movie as extras. After that, he had a talk show, and he also starred as the commander in Rescuing Private Renfall.[3]
