Gatún, Panama is a small town on the Caribbean side of the Panama Canal, located south of the city of Colón. The town is best known as the site of the Panama Canal's Gatun Locks and Gatun Dam, built by the United States between 1906-1914.

Gatun in The Hot War[]

Gatun was destroyed in April 1951 by the Soviet atomic bomb which was smuggled into the Panama Canal and detonated on the Caribbean side of the canal.[1]
