Baba Yar (Babi Yar) is a ravine outside the Ukrainian capital Kyiv and a site of the most notorious massacre of Jews in the Soviet Union by Nazis. Over 33,000 Jews were killed in a single operation on 29-30 September 1941.

Heinrich Jäger, a Wehrmacht colonel fighting with partisans in the Ukraine during the Race Invasion of Earth, met a partisan named Max who claimed to be a survivor of the Babi Yar massacre. Jäger didn't believe him until the Jewish fighter showed him a scar from an attempted execution.
