Eyvind Torfinn was a Raumsdalian earl and Gudrid's second husband. Something of a scholar, he was sent on the Gap expedition by Emperor Sigvat II because of his knowledge of the Golden Shrine.
Because he was the husband of Gudrid, who had not been faithful to Count Hamnet Thyssen, the journey was very uncomfortable since Thyseen accompanied him. It also appeared that he was quite unaware of his the sexual affairs his wife had behind his back, such as those with Trasamund.
