Eckener was a Real user in Los Angeles during the 2117 war with the Chinese. He was a massive white man with a toned body that looked as though it were carved from granite.
At the outbreak of the war, Eckener found himself in a police holding tank. An unconscious prisoner was brought in. When he woke up, Eckener spoke to him. The other prisoner's reply amused Eckener and his further comments convinced him that the guy was a Real user too. Eckener made the Real user hand signal and the guy became excited. Eckener handed him a Real square and then applied a second one to his own temple.
