Andrew Russell "Drew" Pearson (December 13, 1897 – September 1, 1969) was one of the most well-known American newspaper and radio journalists of his day. He was best known for his muckraking syndicated newspaper column "Washington Merry-Go-Round".
Drew Pearson had been a supporter of the Roosevelt Administration. Nonetheless, he did not appear to be a full-fledged supporter of Roosevelt's successor, Harry Truman. At one press conference, Pearson asked how Truman would continue the occupation of Germany if the American people didn't support it. In the opinion of Tom Schmidt, also in attendance, Truman shot Pearson a look that suggested a feeling of betrayal.[1]
