Dave worked in a warehouse in Studio City, West Coast People's Democratic Republic under the management of Emmett Muldberg. He was bald. He became relatively friendly with Charlie Simpkins. When Simpkins began using a baby stroller as a make-shift dolly, Dave was one of the workers who followed suit. As this was against the rules, Muldberg quashed the scheme within a few days, even posting the rule against wheeled conveyances.
When election day arrived, Muldberg reminded the men it was their duty to vote. Dave derided the idea of voting, saying it would them as much good as combing his hair would do him.
On the night Charlie Simpkins met Jack at the Valley Relic, Dave had lost a fair amount of money playing poker.[1]
