Colorado Springs is a Home Rule Municipality that is the county seat and the most populous municipality of El Paso County, Colorado, United States. Colorado Springs is located in the east central portion of the state. Colorado Springs is situated near the base of one of the most famous American mountains, Pikes Peak, rising over 8,000 feet above the city on the eastern edge of the Southern Rocky Mountains. The city is home to the United States Air Force Academy and the United States Olympic Training Center.

Colorado Springs in The Hot War[]

Denver was one of several cities successfully atom bombed by the Soviet Union on March 2, 1951. After deploying their bomb, the crew, their plane flying on fumes, landed their Tu-4 at the Air Force base in nearby Colorado Springs and surrendered.[1]

Colorado Springs in The House of Daniel[]

In 1934, Colorado Springs was a medium sized town that hadn't had a real pro baseball team in some years. The last club was the Colorado Springs Millionaires. After it folded, one player stayed in Colorado Springs, and put together a city league of semipro teams. In May, he assembled an team of his best players into the Colorado Springs All Stars, and played them against the House of Daniel. The House won, 9-4.[2]

After the game, the famous pitcher Carpetbag Booker met the House at the boarding house in which they were staying.[3]
