Cleveland is a city in the state of Ohio and the county seat of Cuyahoga County, the most populous county in the state. The municipality is located in northeastern Ohio on the southern shore of Lake Erie, approximately 60 miles west of the Pennsylvania border. As of the 2000 Census, the city proper had a total population of 478,403, and was then the 33rd largest city in the nation and the second largest city in Ohio.

Cleveland in Joe SteeleEdit

Cleveland was the site of the Republican Party's National Convention in 1936. They nominated Kansas Governor Alf Landon as their presidential candidate. He lost to incumbent Joe Steele in a landslide that November.[1]

Cleveland in Southern VictoryEdit

In 1881, during the Second Mexican War, the city of Cleveland was bombarded by the Royal Navy twice.

In 1942, during the Second Great War, after fierce fighting, Cleveland fell to Confederate forces during Operation Coalscuttle, leaving the city a ruin.
