China (pronounced Cheena in Spanish) is a municipality in the Mexican state of Nuevo León. Its curious name reflects the founders' mistaken belief that San Felipe de Jesús, one of large group of martyrs crucified in 1597 in Nagasaki, had met his death in China rather than Japan.

The Race had established an airbase between China and Monterrey. Rance Auerbach and Penny Summers passed through China on their ginger-smuggling expedition into Mexico. Auberbach found China an unlikely name.
