The Chilean Army is the land arm of the Military of Chile. The Army was

created on December, 2 of 1810 by order of the First National Meeting of Government of Chile.

When Chile sided with the Central Powers in 1915, she and Paraguayn launched an invasion of Argentina. However, towards the end of 1916, this war was going badly, prompting the US Navy to send help.^[1]

The fighting between Chile and Argentina continued after the Great War ended on other continents before finally petering out.^[2]
