The Cabildo was used as a government building in New Orleans, Louisiana between 1799 and 1910, and is now one of the primary buildings of the Louisiana State Museum. The Cabildo is located along Jackson Square, adjacent to St. Louis Cathedral.
Cabildo in "Must and Shall"Edit
The Cabildo housed a fine collection of artifacts and documents relating to General Benjamin Butler, the first Union military governor of New Orleans. Neo-Confederates kept threatening to dynamite the Cabildo, but had not done so by 1942.
