Brighton

Brighton is a town in the city of Brighton and Hove in East Sussex on the south coast of England, United Kingdom. The ancient settlement of Brighthelmston dates from before Domesday Book (1086), but it emerged as a health resort during the 18th Century and became a destination for day-trippers after the arrival of the railway in 1841.

Brighton in Southern Victory[]

In 1944, Brighton was one of three British cities destroyed on the same day by German superbombs, an event which served as the climax of the Second Great War in Europe. The other two cities destroyed were Norwich and the capital city of London[1].
