One other thing. At the back of the book, they have an About The Authors section. For Turtledove, they mention Joe Steele and The House of Daniel as recent and upcoming books. Anyone hear anything about the latter or could that be an editing error with it actually belong to one of the other authors? ML4E (talk) 14:26, August 4, 2015 (UTC)
- This specific title is news to me. However, there have been a few little signs that there will be December release. Joe Steele is being released in PB in December, which is rather early for a book released in April. Since publishers use PBs to promote upcoming works, I suspect we'll get a first chapter preview. Also, at the Barnes and Noble website, there is a listing for an audiobook for Supervolcano Vol 5 set for January, 2016. Obviously, as there wasn't a Supevolcano 4, a vol 5 seems unlikely. So that could just be a "placeholder" title for this The House of Daniel project. TR (talk) 12:22, August 5, 2015 (UTC)
Thanks for the info. In further Muppet news, Miss Piggy and Kermit have split up! Oh noes! ML4E (talk) 15:54, August 5, 2015 (UTC)
- House of Daniel--Maybe another Zionism tale, like NYiJ or LMdA? Or another twist on it, like OD or TMTC? That's assuming they refer to the Prophet Daniel; there are other famous Daniels, of course. Turtle Fan (talk) 16:27, August 5, 2015 (UTC)
Well, this has been officially listed at MacMillan Publishing's website under the Tor imprint for a May, 2015 release. [1] It's also at Amazon. Nothing about the plot. Now, I do find it interesting that HT has gone to Tor for this one, rather than Penguin Random House to be printed under Del Rey and/or Roc (for those who did not know, Penguin and Random House merged in 2014). Tor has published Xtime and T2G, but off the top of my head, Tor and its sister imprints have published primarily fantasy novels, like Darkness, The Gap, and Household Gods, and his straight historical novels, including the Turteltaub books, FP, and GMBML! (Obviously, Tor.com has been much more ecclectic.) So my initial reaction was that this likely going to be fantasy or even historical fiction. But then I remembered his recent interview where he said he had a really "evil" idea for an AH, and maybe Tor was the publisher most inclined to give that idea a spin.
