The Belvedere was a prominent hotel located in Thetford, Atlantis. Athelstan Helms and James Walton stayed at the Belvedere when they investigated a series of murders allegedly committed by the House of Universal Devotion. While here, they were approached by local attorney Benjamin Joshua Morris, a critic of the House and chronicler of its "misdeeds". Morris promised to bring them the evidence he'd accumulated. Instead, he was shot to death just after he exited the Belvedere.[1]
