The Avro Lancaster is a British four-engined World War II heavy bomber made initially by Avro for the Royal Air Force (RAF). It first saw active service in 1942, and together with the Handley Page Halifax it was one of the main heavy bombers of the RAF, the RCAF and squadrons from other Commonwealth and European countries serving within RAF Bomber Command.

Avro Lancaster in WorldwarEdit

The Lancaster was Britain's premier bomber during World War II. Most British bombers were destroyed during the opening attacks of the Race Invasion, including those participating in the thousand bomber raid over Cologne. A few daring pilots staged attacks against Race ground forces and even starships before going down themselves. George Bagnall was a Lancaster pilot who survived the downing of his craft and spent the war in Europe helping the Germans and Russians to oppose the Race.
