Angola, officially the Republic of Angola, is a country in south-central Africa bordering Namibia to the south, Democratic Republic of the Congo to the north, and Zambia to the east, and with a west coast along the Atlantic Ocean. The exclave province Cabinda has a border with the Republic of the Congo and the Democratic Republic of the Congo. Angola is a former Portuguese colony and has considerable natural resources, most notably petroleum and diamonds.
As Portugal was an ally of the Greater German Reich, Portuguese West Africa remained a Portuguese colony into the 21st century.
Angola was one of the two colonies that the Portuguese Empire maintained in Africa.
Angola had long been a Portuguese colony. In 1942, it (along with the rest of Africa and Portugal itself) were quickly overrun by the Race's Conquest Fleet during their invasion of the Earth. It was recognised as Race colony after the Peace of Cairo in 1944.
