Achilles Driver (b. 1915) was the son of Cincinnatus and Elizabeth Driver. He was born in Covington, Kentucky during the Great War. Kentucky was officially part of the Confederate States at the time, but Covington had been occupied by United States forces since the beginning of the war.
Following the war, Achilles relocated to Des Moines, Iowa with his parents. A bright student, Achilles excelled in school, taking advantage of educational opportunities that would not have been available to a black child in the CS. After graduating, he was employed as a clerk in an insurance company.
He married Grace Chang. They had two children, Karen Driver and one more.
