"God Bless the Stars and Stripes" was a patriotic American song. The best-known version was sung by Kate Smith, who in 1943 recorded a version of it along with Satchmo and the Rhythm Aces to improve US morale during the Second Great War.

Literary Comment[]

The analogy is to "God Bless America", written by Irving Berlin in 1918 and sung by Kate Smith in the World War II era. It is one of the most popular 20th century American patriotic songs.
